Featuring dry basement on news Channel 9

On Capital News 9 Channel, Kevin Koval of Adirondack Basement Systems presented the idea of having Dry Basement and its advantage.

"If you keep your basement wet, instead of fixing it and making it dry,
you can get rot in the beams upstairs. It can rust out your furnace,
your water heater. It also makes your house harder to heat and cool
when the air is wet," said Koval.

Please Click here to see the full video here.

I hope for the home owners around Upstate New York this video matters a lot and everyone is aware of their wet basement.
To WET Vac or NOT to Wet Vac? That is the Question

To WET- VAC or NOT to WET- VAC that is the Question!!!!

Is your basement SMELLY, DAMP, MOLDY, or WET? Do you cringe when you see the weather forecast calls for rain? Are you DREADING the spring thaw? Can you have an indoor pool party in the basement? Do you HATE going in the basement? Do you and your honey flip a coin to see whose turn it is to wet-vac the basement?

If you answered YES to any or all of these questions, then Adirondack Basement Systems can help!!!

There are many different reasons why basements leak!!! The main concept is that water flows down hill and will ALWAYS find the path of least resistance (in this case that big open area under your home- your basement)
Lets review a few:
Builders spent monies on pretty things- cabinets, kitchens, floors, windows- items that homeowners look for when purchasing a home, and did the bare minimum in the water proofing of the basement.
Exterior footing drains have become clogged from silt or have been blocked/ broken over the years.
The same is true for interior drainage systems.
Cracks in walls from shrinkage and settling have over time begun to leak.
Which ever may be your issue have no fear WE ARE HERE TO HELP!!!
We have many different ways to help you to keep your basement dry ALL OF THE TIME!!! Our Design Specialists are trained in all aspects of basement waterproofing, structural repair, moisture control, dehumidification, and crawl space solutions.
Frozen discharge lines can cause basement floods

The best sump pump in the world will not work without a proper discharge line. The water that the sump pump gets out of the basement must flow through them to be eliminated.

However, in some regions, cold winter weather may cause those discharge lines to freeze and completely clog.

As a result, when the water hits the clog, it begins to flow back into the sump pit, and the pump starts to recycle it, rather than simply pump it out.
That can lead to sump pump failure and consequently, to basement flood.

All these problems can be prevented with a simple and inexpensive attachment called IceGuard, developed by Basement Systems. The Ice Guard will keep the water flowing when the discharge pipes freeze.

Click here to see a video of the IceGuard in action. Then contact us for a free estimate on this and many other of our innovative waterproofing solutions.

You will be pleasantly surprised to see how affordable it is to keep your basement dry all the time.
