The Chamber Angels provide holiday gifts to underprivileged children by generously donating toys, clothes, and other personal items. The Chamber Angels program identifies less fortunate children who would most likely not receive any gifts for Christmas through area schools and other non-profit organizations. Children’s wish lists are provided to individuals and businesses who agree to sponsor the child and fulfill their wish lists. All the gifts are distributed back through the schools or agencies, insuring that each child receives their desired gifts before the holidays.

The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County is a membership-based business organization representing over 900 businesses in the region. The Adirondack Basement Systems team kicked off the holiday season this year with a whole lot of holiday cheer.

On Novemeber 13th Kevin Koval and his team, along with their children and significant others all participated in the 2011 Halfmoon Holiday Parade for the second year in a row. The Adirondack Basement systems team road through the town of Halfmoon atop their Santa's Work Shop Themed Float, tossing candy to on looking children.

Adirondack along with fire trucks, musical groups, color guard performers and dance groups all passed through the town of Halfmoon spreading the holiday spirit up Guideboard Rd. to the intersection with Rt. 236 and straight through to the Town Hall. With temperatures in the 50's, this mild weathered parade was the perfect opportunity to break out your holiday essentials... hat, mittens and holiday cheer.

From October 4th- November 18th, Adirondack Basement Systems will be collecting items to be donated to the Northeastern New York Regional Food Bank. We will be collecting donations at the Halfmoon Home Show on 10/21-10/23, you can drop off items at our office, or you can call our office and we will arrange for items to be picked up. Also, our Design Specialists and Foreman will accept donations while at appointments/on the jobsite. We are collecting canned goods/personal hygiene items (including diapers). Nothing in glass can be accepted.

With the help of their customers and comunity, Kevin Koval and his team at Adirondack Basement Systems donated 517 pounds of food to the Northeastern New York Regional Food Bank this year!

In 2010 The Northeastern New York Regional Food Bank distributed over 24 million lbs of food in 2010 the total is expect that to climb even higher this year! A Portion of that total came from food drives, which last year brought in 81,132 lbs and over $18,700 for hunger relief.

The Northeastern New York Regional Food Bank serves over 1,000 charitable agencies and more than 244,000 people received food assistance because of the areas efforts.

Halfmoon, NY – Adirondack Basement Systems was recently honored at a meeting of over 600 guests from all over the United States and Canada at this year’s Team Basement Systems Convention. The annual convention is held each year between Seymour, Connecticut, (where the Basement Systems headquarters is located) and Hartford, Connecticut, and brings together dealerships of the international network for classes, seminars, training, parties and networking.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York

When James Deere was diagnosed last year with a very rare Strep Type A blood infection, his family wasn’t sure he was going to make it. His kidneys were failing and he was suffering from toxic shock. This attack on this little boy’s blood stream resulted in his left arm and right leg being amputated, as well as a stroke and hypoxia of the cerebellum (lack of oxygen supply to the brain).

During this time James endured intensive treatment at hospitals and was fitted for prosthesis, while his mother took a leave of absence from her job and his father closed his restaurant so they could both be there for their child.

Recently, James was finally able to return home, but was in need of a clean, comfortable room to continue daily physical therapy in. That’s where Adirondack Basement Systems came in.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York reached out to Kevin Koval, owner of Adirondack Basement Systems, and explained the situation. The Adirondack team didn’t hesitate to lend a hand.

“We finished 850 square feet of basement for the family including flooring, ceilings and an egress window,” Koval said. “They will be using it for a rehabilitation area.”

Total Basement Finishing donated all of the finishing materials. James is now recovering well at home with his family. Great job to Kevin Koval and the rest of the Adirondack crew for helping this family return to normalcy.

MDA Lock Up Program Puts NY Basement Waterproofing Expert Behind Bars

Saratoga Springs, NY - Kevin Koval, the owner of Adirondack Basement Systems, has been locked up since Thursday December 16, 2010 for having too big of a heart-- he's spending time locked up at the Wheatfields downtown until his bail is met. This bail will then be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

His bail has been set at $2,400 and thus far about half has been met.

The MDA's Lock Up event is a fun and unique event that involves the entire community and brings awareness to those who battle with Muscular Dystrophy (MD), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS-- Lou Gehrig's Disease) and other such diseases. The bail money will be donated to the MDA to help with clinic development, research, support, and the organization of camps.

Adirondack Helps Regional Food Bank Collect Food For Holidays And Guess Who's Shaving His Head

Adirondack acknowledges the need for food across the United States and within our very own New York state. We want to help in any way possible. As there is a growing need for food during the upcoming Holiday seasons, we will be collecting donations from October 21-November 11 near the Office Drop Off. But any donations made at other locations will be accumulated and given to the Northeastern Regional Food Bank for their Holiday Hunger Appeal.

The Hunger Appeal is the Northeastern Regional Food Bank's greatest opportunity to receive public donations and influence families in need. From mid-November until Christmas Eve volunteers will be setup at the Crossgates Mall to receive donations.

We're joining alongside other businesses to collect donations, please help us in providing those less fortunate than ourselves with quality food they can enjoy during the Holidays.
