This job story showcases two products, one in the waterproofing sector, and one in foundation. It also highlights how these two products, PowerBraces and CleanSpace, are noninvasive and exceptionally compatible.
Our design specialist took care to survey the basement both for water and foundation issues, making sure that nothing was overlooked in the process. After the end of the inspection, they drew up a plan that would handle the moisture problems while also providing support to the bowing walls, then presented it to the homeowner. The solution? A waterproofing system and PowerBraces.
The first step in the installation process was to handle the moisture problem. Our team created a well-rounded system that works off one another to curb the invading water. Products included in this were CleanSpace, DryTrak, a SinglePack sump pump and more! Since CleanSpace is a focal point in the photos, let’s focus on that product! CleanSpace is a vapor barrier made up of a 4-layer Polyethylene composition which means it’s strong and durable, giving this basement lasting protection for years to come! CleanSpace keeps any moisture seeping in from the outside soil from getting into the basement and pooling, which ultimately leads to significant damage. The vapor barrier then redirects the water into the DryTrak which then transports it to the SinglePack where it is pumped out and away from the home. CleanSpace is super easy to install and contours to any shape or size wall—and is compatible with any other products, like the PowerBraces you see in these photos!
PoweBraces are a great product to help correct bowing or buckling basement walls. These supports attach directly to the walls without any need for outside excavation or any other intrusive installation tactics. PowerBraces not only keep the walls from bowing any further, but also can correct them back to their original position, thanks to their ability to be tightened. All in all, these products will help defend this home from serious harm on both the water and foundation front!
This foundation support job had two goals: supporting the bowing basement walls and providing a boost to sagging floors. The first step we took was to measure the displacement of both the walls and the ceiling of the basement. The process for this involves taking careful measurements and using lasers to visualize the displacement. Next, we ordered PowerBraces and SmartJacks of the proper height for this specific basement to ensure a tight fit that will effectively support the foundation. The original supports were nothing but cheap wooden beams, so our products were by far an upgrade. PowerBraces are responsible for correcting the bowing walls while the SmartJacks are in charge of lifting the floors above and putting a stop to their bounciness. Installation of both these products isn't cumbersome or a nuisance. PowerBraces easily attach right to the inside of the walls, requiring no outside excavation. What made this job a bit interesting, however, is that there was a lip in front of the wall. Thankfully, this didn’t pose a problem for the PowerBraces, which hug the wall from floor to ceiling, providing ample support and correction despite the lip. The SmartJacks, meanwhile, were spread evenly along the middle of the basement to give equal support throughout to the floor. The great thing about both of these products is that not only do they stop the damage from getting worse, they also have the ability to be tightened over time to return the walls and floors to their original position, making both PowerBrace and SmartJacks an all-around fantastic solution to foundation issues your home may be facing.
