Smooth and Safe Summer Fun!

Smooth and Safe Summer Fun! - Image 1

With Memorial Day in the rear-view mirror, summer is ramping up and that means BBQs, family gatherings, and pool parties. But with all the rain, snow, and age beating down on the concrete around your pool, the space may not be prepared to host anything. Uneven and cracked concrete around a pool doesn’t just look bad, it is also very dangerous! A pool should be a relaxing area, not a place where you have to constantly watch your step. And most importantly, kids moving quickly on an already wet surface run the risk of tripping and falling. We all want to avoid an unfortunate accident that could easily be prevented, so it's wise to get the concrete repaired sooner rather than later. Many pool owners put off a job like this because they think it’ll take a full concrete replacement, meaning lots of production, people, and invasive equipment. Luckily, there’s a much easier way and Adirondack Basement Systems is here to provide it!

When it comes to concrete repair, we use a little something called PolylevelPolylevel is a fantastic product that requires a fraction of the work other companies would do to fix uneven concrete. The way it works is quite simple and clean. All it takes is a little surveying to start the process off in order to get a grasp on how displaced the concrete slabs are and to what extent the damage is. Next, we bring in our super noninvasive gear. It is small, compact, and requires no large jackhammers, diggers, or anything of the sort. We then drill a series of holes into the concrete, pumping in a mortar-based mixture underneath the slabs to help lift them. Now, this practice is already established, so some of you may be wondering what makes Polylevel different. And the answer lies within the mixture itself. Polylevel, in addition to the standard mixture, involves a specially engineered two-part expanded foam designed to restore the concrete to its original even level quickly, permanently, and without disruption. And that’s pretty much it! Just let the mixture dry for a brief period, wash the entry points, and you will hardly even know your concrete needed lifting in the first place! Summer pool parties are back on and it's important to be ready! The last thing anyone would want is for somebody to get hurt on cracked, uneven concrete on a lovely day.

If your pool area needs a boost this summer, come see us and give Polylevel a try!
