    Customer Testimonial

We needed an egress window installed in our basement to comply with code before we finished the basement. The estimator showed up on time- very nice fellow. Showed us what we needed for code and what the options were. We went with the cheapest window (which was the style we wanted anyway) and the cheapest well, for approximately $3700. We talked to other contractors and they were either way higher or were lower but balked when asked specific questions. Adirondack Basemetn Systems had a $100 coupon in the paper. I was told by the estimator that they do not offer a veterans or affiliations discount. After the job was done, I found out that they do in fact offer a veterans discount through our county Return the Favor program. I called them and faxed over the info they requested. They refunded the discount in less than a week- very pelased with that! The foreman showed up around 8am and went over with me what they would do and to see if I had any special concerns. He figured out a way to minimize lawn damage (there was none after). They (he and two workers) brought over a Bobcat and got right to work. They have minimal cuts to the existing framing and carefully removed the insulation. They weren't a bother and didn't get in our way. they were patient with me and I kept popping in to check up and ask questions. Job was completed about 5 hours later. The foreman explained to me everything they did, and how to operate and care for the window. They cleaned up. No mess left behind. They even moved and replanted a cherished lilac bush that was in the way. Overall a satisfactory experience. My only concern was that, when the foreman went offsite, the laborers used my power drill and not their own without asking first. They did not damage it. I think the foreman left them tool-less and they didn't want to stop work and wait for him. They seemed to take pride in leaving the smallest evidence of their visit. We plan on doing a Bilco door in a couple years and will call them first.

The purpose of basement windows is to add appeal to your space by bringing in natural sunlight. If those windows are rusted, covered in debris, or doing little more than affording a view of an old, rusty window well, then they're not doing their job. Meanwhile, old window wells often fill with leaves, dirt, and weeds, and they can fill with snow and water, which may leak into your basement. With a typical basement waterproofing, this water will still leak into your home (we have solutions for this kind of problem).

The answer to these problems is EverLast™ Basement Windows and SunHouse™ Window Wells. These dry basement products will not decay when exposed to the elements, and they maximize the beauty of the basement space.

Covered window wells keep cold winter winds from blowing against the panes, while the Low-E double thermopaned glass of EverLast™ Basement Windows saves you on your energy bills. It's a small upgrade that can really make a big difference for your home!

  • Egress Window in Castleton on the Hudson, NY
Egress Window in Castleton on the Hudson, NY

Egress windows are a type of window that provides an emergency exit from a basement living space. These windows provide another escape from the basement during an emergencay situation other than the stairway to upstairs. Egress windows not only provide safety to you and your family when spending time in your basement, but also provide natural light. This natural light can make your basement feel less like a cave and more loke any other loving space in the house. This egress was done in Castleton on the Hudson, New York
