In Troy, NY, a homeowner reached out to us because their front and back concrete steps had dramatically shifted. Damaged gutters had allowed water to seep in, causing the steps to sink and become uneven. This was not only affecting the home’s curb appeal but also posed a safety hazard.
After contacting our Customer Care Specialist, we scheduled a home inspection for them. We sent our experienced System Design Specialist to diagnose the situation. Our team knew that PolyLevel was the ideal solution for this situation.

In Troy, NY, a homeowner faced a common, yet frustrating issue of active leaks in the seam where the wall meets the floor, as well as water seeping through their cinder block wall. Understandably troubled by the constant infiltration of water that threatened the comfort and safety of their home, they sought out our expertise at Adirondack Basement Systems to find a viable, long-term solution. Upon contacting our customer care team, the homeowner was promptly scheduled for a home inspection to assess the severity and source of the water issue. The TripleSafe Sump Pump offers three levels of protection for their basement, even in the heaviest of floods or power outage situations. Our WaterGuard drainage system was engineered to intercept water at the perimeter of the basement, directing it efficiently to the sump pump, avoiding any possibility of water pooling or damaging the foundation. To tackle the humidity and enhance air quality, the SaniDry Sedona would keep their basement dry and comfortable all year round. Lastly, the IceGuard system was installed to ensure that even in the freezing cold months, the effective discharge of water would be uninhibited. Our production team, consisting of a skilled foreman and dedicated installers, worked meticulously to implement this solution, ensuring the area was clean and tidy upon completion. Upon inspection and considering the homeowners wants and needs, he concluded that we would help by installing an Egress window with our Rockwell Window Well. He explained that this is the superior option because it meets code requirements for an escape route in a basement living area and also adds a good look to the home and with a window well cover, will keep water from getting in the basement! A basement in Troy, NY was experiencing water vapor coming into the crawl space. The homeowner gave us a call at Adirondack Basement Systems, and we went out to find a solution to their problem. Our Design Specialist, David, went out, and concluded a CleanSpace Crawl Space Liner would help the moisture problem. With this liner installed, the homeowner can finally rest on the idea of moisture coming into her home.
This homeowner in Troy, NY reached out to Adirondack Basement Systems in need to get an Egress Window installed in their newly added basement bedroom. This was a main priority to this homeowner because in order to have a bedroom in a basement, an safe exit is needed in case of emergencies. Not only does an egress allow for a safely exit, this window allows for natural light to get into the home, saving money in the long run. When our crew went out to install the egress window, they also installed a RockWell Window Well with a window well cover to keep water out of the window well. The window well has stairs built into it so that incase of an emergency there is a fast and safe exit.
This job was a combination of foundation support and window installation. The foundation walls were bulging and cracking throughout the blocks in a number of locations. As for the window, they were rather dated and lost integrity as the basement walls faltered. To remedy this situation, we installed a series of PowerBraces along the affected walls to keep them from becoming displaced any further. They also get tightened during annual maintenances, bringing the walls gradually back to their original positions. As for the window, we removed the old one and cut a larger opening where the sill was to allow room for a bigger EverLast windows. These windows are great because they allow for more natural light, are energy efficient, and provide a cleaner look to the basement.
Window installations are a very careful process. Measurements have to be done with care and precision. They are taken from both the inside and outside of the home, checking then double-checking each one. And when a window well is involved, like in the case of this house, those measurements must also be carefully considered. Once the prep work is completed, custom windows are ordered. No two basement windows are the same, so any old window can’t just be plugged in. The fit must be perfect, which is why windows are specifically ordered for each job. Once the windows come in, the window well location is dug out to make room for the installation team to work. The crew removes the old window and inserts the new one, filling in any vague openings between the window and the sill so there's no entry points for water to get in or heat to escape. Then, on the outside of the home, the new window well is installed. With both products installed, the dirt that was removed is filled in and the team cleans up any other mess they made during the process. New basement windows provide a pop of sleekness to the look of the home while also protecting it from water, animals, and loss of heat.
This job involved revisiting a former customer of ours who had gotten a waterproofing system installed previously and wanted to get some foundation support. The problem that was discovered and of primary concern was buckling walls. A design specialist walked through and inspected the entire basement, checking each wall to see how displaced they were. Then, they marked off locations for the product that would be installed and created a mapped layout of the basement, detailing the entire system. The design specialist then presented the plan to the homeowner so they can go over and approve it. Once all the paperwork is settled, the installation team was brought in to get the job done!
The product chosen as the solution for this home’s foundation woes was a PowerBrace system. This product is custom ordered depending on the basement. Basements aren’t always the same height, so it’s important the size of the PowerBraces match up, otherwise they won’t be effective. So the proper size PowerBraces were brought in and custom-cut to fit perfectly in the basement. The team installed them at the marked off locations, attaching them at the base and top of the wall. PowerBraces are a great solution because installation is simple, requiring no outside excavation; all the team needed to do was attach them snugly to the walls. And as you can see in the photos, they can fit right in and around anything that's already present in the basement. With this PowerBrace system in place, the foundation of this home won’t suffer any further and over time the steel beams can be tightened over time and even correct the walls back to their original position!
Windows aren’t just for light and aesthetic purposes, they also are super important in a waterproofing system—especially basement windows. Water can easily slip through the cracks of old, rotted ones, leading to pools of water forming on the ground, which nobody wants. The process for our EverLast window replacements is simple and effective. First, we take careful measurements of the sill so we know the exact size window we need to order since each one is custom made. Once the window is brought in, we remove the old one and clear out the sill of any leftover debris. Then, we put in the EverLast, sealing it tightly and double checking that there’s no gaps or openings where water can get in and heat can get out. And that’s all there is to it. The basement is now better protected and insulated, plus it’s received a fresh new look!
This customer contacted us because his existing sump system just wasn't doing the job and his basement was still getting a substantial amount of water coming into it. After a thorough inspection, our Design Specialist proposed a Waterguard system, which uses drain pipes installed around the perimeter of the basement, which is then covered with concrete. The system drains into a sump pump or other exterior drain, keeping the basement dry. He also suggested a Triple Safe sump pump system, which keeps your basement dry with triple the protection. Most sump pumps fail because of either a failed pump, a pump that can't handle high volumes of water or power failure. The TripleSafe System assures protection from all three problems. We also installed a Sanidry Sedona Dehumidification System. This is the world's most efficient, high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system, and prevents mold and musty odors. For the finishing touch, we installed Everlast maintenance free, reinforced, vinyl frame windows. The result was a clean, dry, fresh smelling basement!
