Zen Wall is a 1/4 inch thick encapsulated fiberglass core with a reflective foil vapor barrier on the back side and a decorative vinyl finish on the front side.  It is used with a perimeter basement waterproofing system to waterproof a basement wall, and stop water vapor from coming through the wall into the basement air.  This enables your basement walls to look dry, and get a clean finished look in one easy step.

Basement waterproofing Experts Serving Troy, New York

It's easy to tell that you have a water problem when your basement is flooded. Unfortunately, moisture can disrupt your basement in many ways - and a damp basement usually leads to a moldy one. Here are the most common signs of water in your basement that you should look out for:

  • Wet or damp basement floor or standing water
  • Leaking or damp basement walls or windows
  • Crystalline deposits on concrete surfaces
  • Musty odors, condensation, and humidity
  • Sump pump issues

Rather than lose out on storage space and create allergy issues for your family, it's best to dry out your basement - and Adirondack Basement Systems can help you do this permanently. As a member of the Basement Systems dealer network, we have access to the industry's best waterproofing products created by specialized professionals. We also have ample support from the network, allowing us to keep our basement waterproofing knowledge current and bring our customers the benefit of new products as soon as possible.

Other products Adirondack Basement Systems can install include dehumidifiers, basement flooring and wall covers, water heater flood protection rings, ice protection for your drains, and more. We truly have thought of everything when it comes to giving you a cleaner, safer basement!

Crawl Space Repair & Encapsulation Solutions

Besides your basement, your crawl space is the number one place where water issues may occur. In fact, old, vented crawl spaces are even more susceptible to the elements because they have absolutely no protection from the air outside. A cold, humid, or moist crawl space can create structural, comfort, and air quality issues for the rest of your home, which is why it's crucial to have a contractor check in on this space.

Adirondack Basement Systems specializes in a variety of crawl space services that will protect the rest of your home. We can install a crawl space vapor barrier to seal this space off completely from the air outside, ensuring it stays dry and keeping pests away. We also offer crawl space sump pumps, drainage matting, and dehumidifiers for especially wet spaces, and if your crawl space houses pipes or appliances, crawl space insulation is another good idea.

Job Stories From Troy, NY
New Window and Well Installation Troy, NY

Window installations are a very careful process. Measurements have to be done with care and precision. They are taken from both the inside and outside of the home, checking then double-checking each one. And when a window well is involved, like in the case of this house, those measurements must also be carefully considered. Once the prep work is completed, custom windows are ordered. No two basement windows are the same, so any old window can’t just be plugged in. The fit must be perfect, which is why windows are specifically ordered for each job. Once the windows come in, the window well location is dug out to make room for the installation team to work. The crew removes the old window and inserts the new one, filling in any vague openings between the window and the sill so there's no entry points for water to get in or heat to escape. Then, on the outside of the home, the new window well is installed. With both products installed, the dirt that was removed is filled in and the team cleans up any other mess they made during the process. New basement windows provide a pop of sleekness to the look of the home while also protecting it from water, animals, and loss of heat.

PoweBrace Steel Beam Support in Troy, NY

This job involved revisiting a former customer of ours who had gotten a waterproofing system installed previously and wanted to get some foundation support. The problem that was discovered and of primary concern was buckling walls. A design specialist walked through and inspected the entire basement, checking each wall to see how displaced they were. Then, they marked off locations for the product that would be installed and created a mapped layout of the basement, detailing the entire system. The design specialist then presented the plan to the homeowner so they can go over and approve it. Once all the paperwork is settled, the installation team was brought in to get the job done!

The product chosen as the solution for this home’s foundation woes was a PowerBrace system. This product is custom ordered depending on the basement. Basements aren’t always the same height, so it’s important the size of the PowerBraces match up, otherwise they won’t be effective. So the proper size PowerBraces were brought in and custom-cut to fit perfectly in the basement. The team installed them at the marked off locations, attaching them at the base and top of the wall. PowerBraces are a great solution because installation is simple, requiring no outside excavation; all the team needed to do was attach them snugly to the walls. And as you can see in the photos, they can fit right in and around anything that's already present in the basement. With this PowerBrace system in place, the foundation of this home won’t suffer any further and over time the steel beams can be tightened over time and even correct the walls back to their original position!

EverLast Window Replacement in Troy, NY

Windows aren’t just for light and aesthetic purposes, they also are super important in a waterproofing system—especially basement windows. Water can easily slip through the cracks of old, rotted ones, leading to pools of water forming on the ground, which nobody wants. The process for our EverLast window replacements is simple and effective. First, we take careful measurements of the sill so we know the exact size window we need to order since each one is custom made. Once the window is brought in, we remove the old one and clear out the sill of any leftover debris. Then, we put in the EverLast, sealing it tightly and double checking that there’s no gaps or openings where water can get in and heat can get out. And that’s all there is to it. The basement is now better protected and insulated, plus it’s received a fresh new look!

Basement Waterproofing in Troy, NY

This customer contacted us because his existing sump system just wasn't doing the job and his basement was still getting a substantial amount of water coming into it. After a thorough inspection, our Design Specialist proposed a Waterguard system, which uses drain pipes installed around the perimeter of the basement, which is then covered with concrete. The system drains into a sump pump or other exterior drain, keeping the basement dry. He also suggested a Triple Safe sump pump system, which keeps your basement dry with triple the protection. Most sump pumps fail because of either a failed pump, a pump that can't handle high volumes of water or power failure. The TripleSafe System assures protection from all three problems. We also installed a Sanidry Sedona Dehumidification System. This is the world's most efficient, high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system, and prevents mold and musty odors. For the finishing touch, we installed Everlast maintenance free, reinforced, vinyl frame windows. The result was a clean, dry, fresh smelling basement!

I have a wet spot in my finished basement that won't go away.
Project Location: Troy, NY
My basement during the last rain storm had 2 inches of standing water in it at one time. The basement has some cracks and no french drain system so was looking for some estimates and advice. Thanks!
Project Location: Troy, NY
Basement has always had issues with water, especially when we get a lot of rain. I have a sub pump and French drain? But it is very old and recently the basement has had spots of standing water. Recent foundation repair to address exterior issue helped partially but I have concerns about mold and how to better protect my house from water damage.
Project Location: Troy, NY
Basement has occasional water seepage during heavy rain
Project Location: Troy, NY
Just purchased a home that has 2 bowing foundation walls. The foundation walls are from hydrostatic pressure. Looking for estimates to repair or replace.
Project Location: Troy, NY
I live in an old house with old basement. In some places the walls are crumbling but condemned me most was what I saw on one wall. It looks like the wall is sweating but the concern is that this "sweat" is not wet is is more oily.
Project Location: Troy, NY
Our basement has water coming up through cracks in the floor despite having a sump pump that is pumping out water 24/7. The sump pump was installed by the previous owner and is not keeping the basement dry.
Project Location: Troy, NY
Need a sump pump install (including drilling the hole, etc) and some sort of drainage system in my unfinished basement. Currently there is an uneven cement cement slab that allows water to come up from the ground during heavy rains, and pool in the low spots
Project Location: Troy, NY
Sump pump keeps turning on randomly with no liquid in the sump pit.
Project Location: Troy, NY
My sump pump woke me up around 2am because it was so loud. Normally I'll hear it turn on & off for a few seconds but this time was different. I went into the basement & I saw the water level was low but the pump was still running & wouldn't stop. I saw a little stream from the pump so I unplugged it so it can cool down or reset itself. Can I get a free inspection?
Project Location: Troy, NY
We recently made an addition to our home that includes a new basement space. We are getting water leakage, apparently from hydrostatic pressure, along the interface between the old and new foundation. Would like to have you look at it to give us options that we can consider. We have always had water issues and the new basement space was deliberately dug lower with a new sump pump and drainage installed, in the hopes that we would intercept water earlier and direct it away. Unfortunately we are getting water leakage in an area we did not expect and don't know what we can do about it.
Project Location: Troy, NY
We are noticing more and more seeping in cracks of our basement walls. Looking for water proofing options. Thank you.
Project Location: Troy, NY
Hello! I am looking for a contractor to assist with jacking up a first story floor at our late nineteenth century house in Troy. For the last few years, we've noticed a corner in our first floor bathroom has started to sink and we've noticed signs of shifting. We recently had a structural engineer come out and look at the problem. He confirmed that the foundation itself was strong but that the problem was the result of a shim supporting the main beam growing weak and less supportive over time. He recommended jacking and replacing the shim to resolve the issue. I'd like to set up a visit and get an estimate on this project. Thank you for your assistance!
