A homeowner called in with concerns about water in their basement. The homeowner believed the water was coming from a crack in the basement wall, so after careful evaluation from a design specialist, our production team installed a CleanSpace Liner!
A homeowner in Melrose, NY contacted Adirondack Basement Systems about a horizontal crack that ran the entire height of their basement wall. They had done some online research where they found information about our solution to sealing wall cracks. The crack in the wall was leaking water into the basement and looked very unsightly. As the homeowner was looking to sell their home, they needed a warrantied permanent solution to ensure confidence in a potential home buyer. Flexispan is a high-viscosity polyurethane polymer that fills in the crack allowing for flexibility. Overlayed on top of the crack is a secondary drainage that leads down to a drywell. A second layer of the polyurethane seals everything together to create a clean look and prevent any further leaks from the crack. This homeowner no longer has to worry about potential home buyers being uneasy and can show they have a warrantied solution to prevent future leaks!
If you’re experiencing bowing or buckling walls, PowerBraces are the way to go. Placed at properly designated intervals, as seen in these photos, PowerBraces help take the load of the house off the foundation and provide stable support. Over time, our service technicians do annual maintenance and tighten the support beams to help return the walls safely to their original position!
Adirondack Basement Systems recently had the opportunity to assist The Nassau Free Library in Nassau, NY. The crawl space below the library needed a vapor barrier and some much-needed support to stop the floors from sagging.
Bill Seabridge is one of our structural System Design Specialists, once he was assigned this inspection he was right out there to propose a solution for this amazing facility! Bill proposed SmartJacks to replace the old style jacks they were using to support the structure. He also proposed CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system.
The library had a dirt crawl space under it, this damp environment is very unhealthy and destructive. The CleanSpace encapsulation system completely isolated the library from the earth, this dramatically reduced the humidity level in the air which, when combined with sealing outside air and dehumidification, eliminated mold growth and rot from their crawl space, this has made the entire library a healthier place.
