A homeowner in Queensbury, NY had bowing walls in their basement. Along with bowing walls, there was a horizontal crack that ran across the length of one of the walls. Concerned about the structural integrity of their home, they contacted Adirondack Basement Systems for a free structural estimate. We sent our Structural Specialist, Jon Roz to the home to do a thorough inspection of the foundation. After taking necessary measurements and assessing the damage to the walls, Jon decided the best solution would be our PowerBrace System. This system is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. With no outside excavation required, PowerBraces are an ideal solution.
Much of what we do isn’t visible; working behind the scenes to keep your basement dry, your foundation secure, etc. What you see in this picture set is CarbonArmor at work. CarbonArmor uses fiber-reinforcement polymers to permanently stabilize the foundation. This material is ten times stronger than steel and flexible enough to contour perfectly to any wall. What’s also great about the product is if you’re looking to finish your basement, you can easily cover up CarbonArmor with whatever walls or panels or paint you desire, making it a great choice no matter what plans you have for your basement!
This Queensbury home had bowing foundation walls due to previous water damage. Our team installed large metal beams, PowerBrace, to prevent the home from further crumbling.
Brandon and crew installed EverBrace to support these crumbling basement walls.
Bowing walls are a concerning issue and it’s important to address it before your foundation is damaged any further. What this set of before and after photos highlights is our PowerBrace system installed in a basement. PowerBraces are a great product to go with if your walls are in need of support; they’re strong, durable, and easy to install. No outside excavation is required, all we need to do is get the right size and secure them tightly to the wall. They’re made of zinc material so they’re rust resistant. Not only will PowerBraces keep your walls from buckling any further, they also can be tightened over time and correct the walls back to their original position. PowerBraces are an all-around great choice for anyone looking to give their foundation some support!
