We recently worked with a homeowner in Halfmoon, NY, who discovered a concerning issue in their finished basement. Searching for something in their closet, they noticed dampness and suspected mold on their belongings—unnerving findings for any homeowner. Although we don't handle mold directly, the root of the problem lay in water seepage, and for that, they knew we could help.
The journey began with a call to our Customer Care Specialist, who quickly set up a thorough inspection. Our System Design Specialist visited the home, investigating all persistent water issues. Based on the findings, we devised a plan to transform their plagued space into a reliably dry zone.
Our experienced production team took it from there. They installed WaterGuard, a sub-floor drainage system, strategically designed to handle unwelcome water efficiently. Next up, our BrightWall panels brightened the walls, acting not just as a vapor barrier but as chic protection against moisture. To harness their sump pump system, we included IceGuard to prevent any trouble caused by frozen discharge lines during New York's colder months. And the backbone of the installation: the reliable SuperSump provided robust reassurance, efficiently removing water from the basement.
Completing the job, our team made sure every system and added fixture worked seamlessly together, keeping the basement dry and the homeowner worry-free. They left the place clean and orderly, a testament to our commitment to a remarkable customer experience. This thorough solution now shields the home against further water damage, delivering peace and assurance, backed by our proven expertise.
When a homeowner in Clifton Park, NY, reached out to Adirondack Basement Systems, they were facing a significant issue that affected their comfort — the floor of their 20-year-old sunroom addition was uncomfortably cold during the winter. Given that this room was built above an unsealed foundation, the temperature fluctuations were even more pronounced.
Our process for tackling such problems began when the homeowner made the call to our Customer Care Specialist. They promptly scheduled a comprehensive home inspection. One of our experienced System Design Specialists conducted a thorough assessment, identifying that the root of the issue lay in the unsealed crawl space beneath the sunroom, allowing temperature extremities to seep through.
Armed with this information, our team got to work. We installed a combination of our top-quality products to resolve the issue. Firstly, we applied the CleanSpace encapsulation system. This helped reduce the effect of external climate challenges by acting as a barrier against moisture and cold air intrusion. Next, SilverGlo insulation was added to the crawl space walls, effectively providing an R-11 insulation rating, further assisting in maintaining consistent temperatures. RimTight insulation was also crucial to the process, efficiently sealing and insulating the vulnerable rim joists above the foundation.
For added solidity, TerraBlock was employed on the crawl space floor. This flexible insulation contributed additional cushioning and insulation where it was most needed.
Thanks to these strategic installations, the homeowner can now enjoy their sunroom comfortably throughout the year, regardless of the season. The solution not only stabilized the room's temperature but also successfully enhanced the overall energy efficiency of the home. At Adirondack Basement Systems, we remain committed to delivering solutions that stand the test of time.

Recently, in Clifton Park, a homeowner reached out to us with hopes of upgrading their SumpPump, after having such a wet season. Additionally, they lacked IceGuard and an exterior discharge line, which meant there was potential for hoses to freeze and for water to seep back into the basement, with nowhere else to go. We, at Adirondack Basement Systems understand how critical a reliable basement waterproofing system is, not only for the structural integrity of your home, but for the peace of mind it brings.
Because of this, our Customer Care team promptly scheduled an inspection with one of our expert System Design Specialists. Upon visiting the home, our specialists thoroughly assessed the space, identified both the obvious and underlying issues, and recommended the installation of our TripleSafe Sump Pump system. The beauty of the TripleSafe system lies in its reliability and efficiency - it's designed as a comprehensive solution to basement water problems.
Not only did the production team go in to replace the old, inadequate sump pump with the TripleSafe, but they also installed a strategic exterior discharge line to ensure water stays out of the basement for good. The outcome? A totally transformed basement space that's dry, safe, and properly equipped to handle whatever mother nature decides to throw our way.
This Halfmoon, NY homeowner was looking for a solution to keep his basement dry all year round. He decided to give Adirondack Basement Systems a call to get a professional basement specialist to come and assess the issue. Our Certified Design Specialist, Jeff, went out to the home to evaluate the basement. He suggested that the WaterGuard system would be the best solution for this homeowner. Brandon and his team installed the WaterGuard system. Now this homeowner doesn't need to worry about his basement having water issues again.
This previous customer of Adirondack Basement Systems, wanted to add a window to their basement to let more light in. When Jeff went out to her, he suggested that installing an Everlast window would be the best option for her and her homes needs. With the Everlast window it will not only allow extra light into the home, but the windows will not get rusty overtime. Brandon and his install crew cut a new block for the new Everlast window and installed the window. This Clifton Park homeowner is very happy with her newly fresh looking windows and was happy to let us know that she will continue on using our services.
A homeowner in Clifton Park wanted to improve the windows in their basement home office. They wanted an option that would look good but would also be an effective improvement to their home. They reached out to us hopeful that we would be able to help them. We were able to send one of our design specialists to them to take measurements and go over the best options for the homeowner. After finding out that an egress window would let natural light and air into the home and save them money in the long run, they were sold. Our install crew replaced their window with an egress window and installed a window well for easy escape in case of an emergency. They finished the install off with adding a window well cover which will keep water out of the hole and out of the basement.
Sometimes, all it takes is a little bit of help. The floors of this home were sagging just a touch and the pre-existing support beams were losing strength. Worried about the integrity of their home, the homeowner called one of our certified design specialists in to inspect the garage underneath the home. We typically don’t do work in garages, unless it’s attached to the basement like it was in this situation. Thankfully, after taking an in-depth look at the garage and basement, it was determined that the situation was not dire and a single SmartJack could help stabilize the floors above!
The installation process began by ordering a SmartJack of the proper height to fit in the space. Once that arrived, the installation team custom-cut it so it was a precisely perfect fit. They then secured it to the ground and ceiling support beam at the pre-marked location, double checking that everything was secure. And that was that! Now, the floor won’t get displaced any further, and with the help of our service technicians during annual maintenance, the floor will be returned to its original position thanks to SmartJacks’ ability to be tightened. SmartJacks are incredibly strong and reliable; a perfect choice for keeping your floors from sagging!
This job story tells a common tale of properly waterproofing a basement to make it a clean, dry space. One of our certified design specialists went over every nook and cranny of the basement to determine what the weak points were and what could be done to improve the situation. The three primary products utilized in the solution were WaterGuard, TrenchDrain, and a SinglePack sump pump.
Installation began with the removal of portions of the floor and walls where the two meet. This helped create space for the WaterGuard which is positioned at the joist. The same process is done for the small portions of the floor where the TrenchDrain was laid. Once these two products were installed and secured, the team repoured concrete into the areas they removed and replaced the pieces of wall that were taken out. WaterGuard and TrenchDrain act as facilitators, gathering any incoming water and directing it to the SinglePack, which sends it out of the home. There was a pre-existing sump pump in this home, but it was old and dated, so it had to be replaced. Thankfully, our sump pumps can be installed right where the old ones sit, so the process is quick and easy! With everything in the right place, this basement now has great protection from whatever water Mother Nature has to throw at it!
Eric P. of Clifton Park, NY wanted a clean, safe space in his basement so that he could eventually finish the area off completely in the future. Eric's basement was just a damp storage space at this time. His walls were filled with effervescence and although mold was not noticeable as of yet, the entire basement smelled damp and felt humid. Eric reached out to Adirondack Basement Systems, and with Basement Waterproofing specialist Tim VanKempen, they devised a plan to transform his wet moldy basement in to a useable space.
Soon after their initial inspection, foreman Christopher Hurley and his crew arrived at Eric's home. They installed our complete waterproofing system including TrenchDrain, Waterguard, Sump Pump, ThermalDry Insulation and a SaniDry dehumidification system. WaterGuard and TrenchDrain act as a non-clogging piping system that sits above the soil. Water passes through the system and eventually runs off into one of our Sump Pumps. In this case Eric went with our TripleSafe pump, this is the world's MOST reliable pump system, with 1 regular, and 2 back-up pumps. After the perimeter drain was installed Christopher and crew installed the final product our patented high-performance dehumidification and air filtration system. The dehumidifier eliminated any damp or musty odors in Eric's basement and solved any problems with mold, allergens, or unfiltered air.
Now that our work is done Eric’s basement is dry and ready for storage, finishing, or whatever his family and him decide to do with their brand new square footage!
