Recently, we had the pleasure of assisting a homeowner in Clifton Park, NY, who was facing a frustrating issue with their sidewalk. This job story tells a common tale of properly waterproofing a basement to make it a clean, dry space. One of our certified design specialists went over every nook and cranny of the basement to determine what the weak points were and what could be done to improve the situation. The three primary products utilized in the solution were WaterGuard, TrenchDrain, and a SinglePack sump pump.
Installation began with the removal of portions of the floor and walls where the two meet. This helped create space for the WaterGuard which is positioned at the joist. The same process is done for the small portions of the floor where the TrenchDrain was laid. Once these two products were installed and secured, the team repoured concrete into the areas they removed and replaced the pieces of wall that were taken out. WaterGuard and TrenchDrain act as facilitators, gathering any incoming water and directing it to the SinglePack, which sends it out of the home. There was a pre-existing sump pump in this home, but it was old and dated, so it had to be replaced. Thankfully, our sump pumps can be installed right where the old ones sit, so the process is quick and easy! With everything in the right place, this basement now has great protection from whatever water Mother Nature has to throw at it!
Eric P. of Clifton Park, NY wanted a clean, safe space in his basement so that he could eventually finish the area off completely in the future. WaterGuard and TrenchDrain act as a non-clogging piping system that sits above the soil. Water passes through the system and eventually runs off into one of our Sump Pumps. In this case Eric went with our TripleSafe pump, this is the world's MOST reliable pump system, with 1 regular, and 2 back-up pumps. After the perimeter drain was installed Christopher and crew installed the final product our patented high-performance dehumidification and air filtration system. The dehumidifier eliminated any damp or musty odors in Eric's basement and solved any problems with mold, allergens, or unfiltered air.
Now that our work is done Eric’s basement is dry and ready for storage, finishing, or whatever his family and him decide to do with their brand new square footage!
