This homeowner had some sizable cracks in their basement walls that leaked water from the outside. Luckily, the fix to this is simple, noninvasive, and clean-looking. While the installation process looks like a one-step job, it actually involves three closely-related steps. The first is a flexible sealant that goes across the entire length of the crack. Then, a strip of a porous, flexible foam is installed over the crack. Finally, an impermeable membrane is attached to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. The FlexiSpan works in all conditions and is not affected by any sort of pressure or movement with the walls. It also won’t leak or reopen like mortar-based repairs, making it a strong, reliable solution to any leaking basement cracks.
Crawl spaces are a vital piece of the house when it comes to support and air quality. If your crawl space is in rough shape, then chances are other parts of the home are feeling the effects of that. So what’s something that’s a common issue in crawl spaces? Let’s look at moisture, for example.
This homeowner had a crawl space that hadn’t been given much love or attention in the past, so water had free reign over the area—and where there’s water, there’s trouble. What this set of before and after photos displays is the CleanSpace portion of our installation job. The purpose of CleanSpace is to provide a vapor barrier for the crawl space. It not only reduces humidity and moisture in the crawl space, but also helps seal out cold drafts in the winter; a highly useful 1-2 punch. CleanSpace is super durable, made of a 20mm thick, 7-layer polyethylene composition, providing a guaranteed 25 year lifespan, which gives you years of peace of mind at the same time. CleanSpace is also compatible with any other product, so it is often paired with other systems to give the area a more well-rounded protection against moisture and other issues. And as evident by the photos, it also provides a nicer look to the crawl space; an added bonus with an already effective product.

Here’s a great look at the different our EverLast windows can make! Strong windows are very important for the health of a basement because if they’re in bad condition, filled with gaps and rotted wood, then water, bugs, and other critters can easily get in; and inversely, heat has no problem escaping. All these issues mean trouble for your home and your pocket because you will end up losing money over time if you choose not to upgrade the windows. Heat bills will go up, water repairs will be a constant necessity, and exterminators aren’t cheap, either. Our EverLast windows are custom-made for your home, meaning they’ll always be a perfect fit, not giving room for anything to get in our out through cracks or gaps. These windows are a great insulator and a perfect choice when making the move for an upgrade. And, on top of all the protection they provide, the windows also provide a updated, clean look to your home!
